He was a member of prestigious artists' societies such as Arti et Amicitiae, Maatschappij Rembrandt and Sint Lucas. In his active life he has participated in about thirty exhibitions, both in Holland and in other European countries. He has also had a number of solo exhibitions, including in Tiel (where he has lived the longest) and in Nijmegen, his hometown. The reviews from that time are almost without exception favorable
